My name is Elizaveta,

And I am an industrial design graduate who spent her years at OCAD learning about the process of designing physical consumer goods, everything from interviewing service animal owners for service design solutions to learning how to code, 3D print/render, and build furniture from start to finish. This education taught me the importance of intuitive design, how to consider budget and production requirements/ capabilities in the design process, and how to conduct research/usability sessions, all while collaborating effectively with your team.

During my time at OCAD I was also working as a freelance

graphic designer, creating promotional, social media and brand content for startups and local artists. In addition to this, I was working as a set dresser for commercials and shows. Deciding to transition to UX/UI was an obvious decision for me as it merged all the things I loved most about graphic design, set dressing, and physical product design!

My Design Philosophy

  1. Comprehensive research is the backbone of a strong design process

  2. A problem cues an opportunity, but not all opportunities arise from a problem.

  3. Always look for ways to challenge your assumptions

  4. Functional design often flies under the radar. Often we only notice our interaction with designs if they aren't behaving the way we want, otherwise, it should be intuitive and make the user feel confident in every next move

  5. Take note of things that make you say "how did this not exist before?"
